Visitor Comments
Aug. 18, 08: heard from colleague that LH lounges are closed. Alternative lounges are Alitalia lounge for OS flights. Opening on new LH lounge is now delayed to early 2009 (from late 2008).
Feb 18-08: I read today that LH lounge @ JFK will be renovated and expanded to three levels: for business, Senator and First Class, with entrances after security check. The renovation works will take until end of 2008. If anyone has more information or experince about interim lounge availability, please share.
Can be crowded at times. Larger business lounge is next door.
Does anyone know how to circumvent the rather cold agents at the entrance bullying everyone without a first class ticket to go to the left to the business lounge section and convince them that as a *G, I'm entitled to Senator club entrance regardless of the ticket I'm traveling on? They keep telling me I cannot enter the Senator lounge because it's for First Class passengers only. If it's somehow true they should really amend their rules®ulations...
As a Lufthansa employee, I regret to inform you that it is true, the Senator Lounge is restricted to M&M Senator, HON-Circle, and First Class only. Star Alliance Gold may only use the Business Lounge. Neo16287 05:57, 16 May 2007 (CEST)
The Lufthansa web site (as of Feb 08) indicates that Star Alliance Gold members may also use all Senator Lounges. See http://www.lufthansa.com/online/portal/lh/us/info_and_services/at_the_airport/lounges?nodeid=1801992&l=en&cid=1000390 Whatever M&M Senator Card holders can use, may also be accessed by Star Gold Card holders (with a boarding pass). Perhaps some Lufthansa employees should review their existing rules.
While most SEN lounges are accessible by *G, individual stations may limit access as they see fit. My station, for instance, does not permit *G in our SEN lounge strictly because our lounge is too small to accommodate our SENs and our *Gs. It is the same with New York. Until the new SEN lounge is complete, *G may only use the Business Lounge facilities. If you want to help, the best way is to contact USA Customer Service. The more files opened on lounge space limitations, the sooner they will see the outstation lounges need refurbishment. Neo16287 23:30, 13 Apr 2008 (CEST)
